Course Description
The Center for Knowledge and Advance Training (CKAT) Inc. has partnered with the First Association of Legal Transcriptionist in the Philippines, Inc. (FALTIP) to work hand in hand in providing quality and certified Legal Transcription training. With a competent training core, the training department uses adequate methodologies of teaching to facilitate a more creative training environment. Legal transcriptionists listen to dictated recordings made by attorneys, paralegals and other legal professionals and transcribe them into legal documents. They generally listen to recordings on a headset, using a foot pedal to pause the recording when necessary, and encode the text into a computer. The documents they produce include correspondence, pleadings, motions, discovery, legal memoranda, agreements and time entries. As the number of attorneys, paralegals and other legal professionals continues to grow, the demand for qualified legal transcriptionist also increases. Exploding court dockets will also fuel the demand for court transcriptionists. Legal transcription is an excellent career choice especially if you wish to work from home and set your own schedule. Once you have acquired the requisite skills, it will be easy to find work with law firms, legal departments of big companies and corporations, courts, state agencies, federal agencies, insurance companies and finance companies.
