Course Description

This course, specifically designed for Human Resource personnel provides information on systematically determining the value and worth of an employee’s job in relation to other jobs in a company or organization. This would help them asses worth using systematic comparison which in turn serves as a crucial part of establishing a rational pay structure. Internal equity is indeed of paramount importance in any organization. This can be achieved through effective and systematic structures and systems. Job Evaluation (JE) is a tool that rationalizes and compares the relative worth and difficulty of a job/s in the organization. JE provides a basis and key factor in promoting a fair and equitable job grading system and reward structure. Internal equity also promotes industrial peace and harmony at the workplace. The atmosphere of fairness permeating in the organization delimits conflicts, insecurities, and professional jealousies. The use of JE resolves issues on these areas.
